Sleep Disorders Threaten Your Health

Sleep disorders not only affects the quality of your sleep, but can also play a large role in your chances of developing other medical problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and others such as:

  • Obesity
  • Heart Attacks
  • Stroke
  • Anxiety
  • Excess Alcohol Use
  • ADD/ADHD

What Blue Mountain Hospital Offers

Blue Mountain Hospital's Sleep Study Lab will offer two programs: In-Lab Studies & At Home Sleep Program

In-Lab Studies

During the in-lab sleep studies, patients will come to Blue Mountain Hospital and spend the night under the supervision of our sleep lab technologist. As you sleep, electrodes will be attached to your head and body to monitor your brain waves, breathing, and movement. We understand that sleeping covered in medical equipment and while being observed can make your uncomfortable, but we offer a comforting, home-like atmosphere to help you sleep through the night.

At Home Sleep Test

Blue Mountain Hospital's home sleep program utilizes Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT). At home sleep tests are a simplified version of in-lab studies. The Home Sleep Apnea Tests are a portable breathing monitor that you wear overnight. It will monitor your breathing, oxygen levels, and breathing effort. This test is mostly used to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea as it focuses more on your breathing rather than your sleep patterns.

Our Experts in Sleep Disorders

Our Sleep Study providers have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating sleeping disorders. During the initial consult, one of our sleep specialists will discuss the physical and emotional factors that may be leading to your sleep problems. The specialists will then monitor your in-lab or at home results and come up with the treatment that's best for you. Our goal is to send you home with the right tools to achieve a great nights sleep!
