Job Description
The Scrub Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures by assisting surgeons and nurses during surgeries and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before each procedure
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and nurses during surgeries by providing the necessary instruments and supplies in a timely manner
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols to minimize the risk of surgical site infections
- Assist with patient positioning and prepping, as well as draping the surgical area
- Collaborate closely with surgical team members to ensure efficient and safe patient care throughout procedures
- Assist with the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in healthcare
