Job Description

Blue Mountain Hospital, located in Blanding, Utah, is seeking a full-time Procurement Assistant.

This full time, 35-40 hour position requires learning the Materials Management system, which includes stocking inventory, GPO contracts, supply ordering, and purchasing processes that meet the goals of the hospital to provide the quality and quantity of material to the appropriate location and time consistent with the hospital's standards of care. This service-related position requires constant effort to meet and exceed the needs of customers, patients, and personnel.

Duties include assisting Procurement Supervisor with the following:

  • Procurement, processing, and distribution of supplies
  • Prepare and process purchase orders
  • Receive and inspect all materials coming into the facility
  • Maintain an adequate supply of stock inventory to maintain the PAR levels Replenishment System and fills departmental stock requisitions
  • Manage Inventory Control System
  • Review and manage GPO Contracts

Communication, organization, attention to detail, motivation, and initiative are highly sought-after tools for this positions.

A full workday requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying packages and boxes from various delivery companies.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must have a high school diploma, computer and organizational skills, be friendly, and demonstrate telephone etiquette. This position requires interaction with all staff and will need to research materials to understand better specific materials related to particular procedures.
